SENIOR ACCOUNTANT For Four Star Hotel
Job Description:

Position Summary: The Senior Accountant oversees financial operations and reporting, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements, and supporting financial planning in a dynamic hospitality environment. This role involves handling accounts, managing budgets, ensuring regulatory compliance, and analyzing financial data to aid in decision-making for a four-star hotel. The Senior Accountant collaborates closely with hotel management to optimize financial performance and ensure the hotel meets its financial goals.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Key Responsibilities: Prepare and review financial statements, budgets, and forecasts to ensure accuracy and alignment with hotel objectives. Manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, and payroll. Conduct month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely reporting. Monitor and analyze financial performance, providing actionable insights to hotel management. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management, identifying cost-saving opportunities. Coordinate internal and external audits, preparing necessary documentation and ensuring compliance. Oversee reconciliations, journal entries, and adjustments to maintain accurate records. Train and supervise junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support as needed. Prepare ad hoc financial reports and analysis for management decision-making.

Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications:

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Proven experience as a Senior Accountant, preferably in a hotel or hospitality setting. Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Oracle) and MS Excel. Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Familiarity with hospitality industry standards and regulations. Preferred Skills: CPA or relevant professional certification. Experience with hotel property management systems (e.g., Opera, Micros). Knowledge of internal controls and financial compliance in the hospitality industry.
